Marateale in school
The fourth edition of “Marateale in School”, a section of the renowned Marateale Festival is organized by the Cinema Mediterraneo Association, in collaboration with BPER Banca and with the patronage of the MIUR-Regional School Office for Basilicata.
The short film “Basilicata – imagine time” wins first prize in the Marateale in school competition!
The students of the audiovisual and multimedia fourth C of the Gropius Artistic High School in Potenza won first prize in the “Marateale in school” competition. The event, sponsored by the Regional School Office of Basilicata and supported by BPER Banca, saw the participation of eight finalist short films from across the region.
The awards ceremony took place at the Lagonegro social center, in the presence of an exceptional jury composed of Elena Sofia Ricci, Lorena De Vita and Dr. Claudia Datena. The competition involved young students from upper secondary schools in Basilicata, who were asked to make films of a maximum of 120 seconds on issues relating to the protection of the environment and the future in Basilicata.
Green Award
Marateale in Green is a new section of the Marateale Festival that promotes environmental sustainability in compliance with the objectives set out in the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Agenda.
Ten feature films with environmental themes (animation, documentaries, fiction) will be selected to participate in the MARATEALE IN GREEN competition.
How to Participate: The competition provides admission to the selection of national and international works produced after 1/1/2022 and made with any medium, unpublished in Italy. Registration of films in the MARATEALE IN GREEN section can be done no later than 10/6/2024.

Marateale in short
The “MARATEALE IN SHORT” competition opens the doors to all fictional short films, Italian and international, of any genre.
The selection of the ten finalist short films takes place by care and at unquestionable judgment of the Jury and the Artistic Direction of the Festival.
How to Participate: All works submitted must be of recent production, completed no earlier than 1 January 2023 and with a duration of less than 25 minutes, made in any medium.
Registration of films in the MARATEALE IN SHORT section can be done no later than 10/6/2024.

Marateale in school
Marateale in School is a section of the Marateale Festival. The Cinema Mediterraneo Association, as organizer of the MARATEALE – BASILICATA INTERNATIONAL AWARD event and the patronage of the MIUR-Regional School Office for Basilicata, announces for the 2022/2023 school year the third edition of “Marateale in School” aimed at young people from 1st and 2nd grade secondary schools in Basilicata.
The competition involves the creation of short films with the aim of stimulating the creativity of the participants through the creation of audiovisual works that focus attention on the importance of the Lucanian territory and specifically the themes to be covered will be:
- The territory and environmental protection;
- The tourist promotion of the Lucanian territory;
- Innovation through new technologies.

Marateale in School is a competition that aims to stimulate the creativity of young people through the creation of short films on relevant topics, such as protecting the environment and building the future in Basilicata.
How to Participate: Secondary schools in Basilicata are invited to participate, with a teacher designated as contact person for all communications relating to the competition.
